When a new shed is going to be built, the structure needs to go on a solid foundation. Building pads can have multiple different edges and be made with multiple different types of rock. Class 5 is the most common material used. Open graded rock is another option when drainage corners present. Grading the yard up to the edging, boulders and block retaining walls and timbers are often used as the boarder to separate the rock building pad from the rest of the yard.
